Drive Locale

Description:
Drive Locale is an arcade racer with vehicle physics and vibes loosely inspired by the older Initial D Arcade Stage games and Auto Modellista. Drive JDM cars through stylized renditions of Japan's famous mountain roads like Haruna, Akagi, Iwaki, and more.

Race through the campaign breaking time trial and drift records in three different classes of cars on seven different tracks. Beating each class of the campaign unlocks the next class of vehicles for campaign and quick play use.

If that's not your thing feel free to use the Time Attack and Drift quick play modes to try and set new records using the currently unlocked cars.

Playing on controller is recommended but not required.

Background: 
This was a project I started near the end of 2024 with most of the development being finished by early 2025. There was more I wanted to do with the project, but life had some other plans for me.  Instead of letting the project sit in an almost complete state I figured I would just put it out there. This is my first project that I'll be putting out to the public so I hope it may entertain a few people.  

It is not fully finished, and I hope this release will give me some feedback / data that I could use to prepare the game for a steam release. 

There are also some more things I'd like to do such as physics tuning, UI polish, level cleanup, reworking (or removing) the campaign, local co-op, and leaderboard integration, though some of those are just ideas at the moment.

When bugs are inevitably found, I will attempt to fix them as I find the time.

I also keep a change / update log in the discord for the game so feel free to check that out or offer suggestions there.

System Recommendations:
While I have not been able to adequately test how demanding everything is I will attempt to throw out some recommended specifications for 1080p 60fps on medium settings. Feel free to leave a comment with any accurate performance info:

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600x (or equivalent)
GPU: GTX 1060 3gb (or equivalent)
RAM: 8gb DDR4
STORAGE: 1.3gb free storage
